On Saturday we had nothing to do, so decided to go up to Felton and recce the Weldon and Felton walk planned for the 30th June. A bonus was that we could also check out The Running Fox tea room at Felton and The Angler’s Arms at Weldon Bridge. Lunch at The Running Fox first and then off we went. Last Saturday we were over in the heart of the Lake District, Grasmere. We were there for the 2018 Grasmere Gallop and were all looking forward to it. Yesterday we went out to Allenheads, one of the highest villages in England, aiming to check out the route for the Allenheads walk on Sunday 17th June. Allenheads gets it’s name from being the area that is the source or heads of the River East Allen, the main source of the River Allen. Walk: Bellingham and Hareshaw Linn

Taking advantage again of the unbelievably good weather we are having, we arrived at Hareshaw Linn car park, ready for the day’s walking around Bellingham and Hareshaw Linn. The group was mostly familiar faces but with three additions, Daniel and Annabel, the children of one of our regulars and Andy. Andy was a new customer and had seen our walk advertised in the local newspaper. He was welcomed into the group immediately. Once we were all ready we did a short warm up and then set off.
