Description
Newbiggin-by-the-Sea and the River Wansbeck
This walk visits Newbiggin-by-the-Sea and the River Wansbeck. It starts close to the Newbiggin Maritime Centre and then continues down the coast to the mouth of the River Wansbeck. From here we turn inland and follow the river upstream towards the Wansbeck Country Park before returning to Newbiggin-by-the-Sea.

Newbiggin Maritime Centre
The Maritime Centre houses The Breakwater Cafe, the Seashore Shop, a museum and a function room. It is completely run by volunteers who take on the various roles in the centre.
The Breakwater Cafe overlooks Newbiggin Bay. It uses locally sourced ingredients to produce a taste of the seaside.
